Hey guys, I have a question on a new project to me regarding what i discovered when I went to deal with leaking hoses going from PS control valve to steering cylinder.
Every diagram or real photo I see shows the front mounting bolt and the 2 hose connections on the steering cylinder oriented together in same direction (which when bolt is installed), they are all facing forward to the front of the car with the 2 hose connections stacked vertically on the left.
But what I have just found on my car is when the cylinder is installed with front bolt attached in place, facing forward front of car… my 2 hose connection holes are left & right side by side facing down at the bottom towards the floor. How is this possible? this doesn’t happen to turn or twist in that position does it? if so that’d be a nice surprise. of dozens that Ive looked up all have those holes stacked on the left then what is mine?
All was working perfectly as far as the p-steering system goes until the leaks, so I just need to replace the hoses but this odd configuration made my 1st set ordered non-usable due to the bends not working out with the strange location. It seems they had one hose that looks much like the 2nd set i ordered but the other hose matched nothing i have seen out there. I can get a photo under the car of the connections but this is very straight-forward on just the different connection location, everything else is identical to the norm and working great.
So im going to try and orient the new set to see if they’ll comfortably align in position but if not, don’t know how i’ll find the weird hose they had on one side. now if all does work out, im still curious to tap your knowledge of what’s up that this cylinder config is different from anything else i have seen with my connections facing down to the floor.
Thanks for any thoughts or input you may have on this.
