1969 Cougar - questions from Germany

Hi @all, I’m Björn from Germany and I need some help. My girlfriend and I are looking for a 1969 Cougar but it’s hard to find a appropriate car here in Germany…

Now I’ve found this Cougar: https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/mercury/cougar/2208604.html and I wrote to Bob who sells the Cat. He responds quickly and answered most of my questions. Does anyone know something about the car or can help me to find out if the Merc is worth the money?

Alternatively this one is also on my list: https://www.classicconnectionsnc.com/1969-Mercury-Cougar/Used-AmericanMuscleCar/Greenville-NC/12708235/Details.aspx

Same questions…

Thank you,
Björn

You should really look at the one in the thread titled “Movin On”

I don’t know the seller, but I’ve known the guys at KTL Restorations for about 15 years. Good guys, well respected in the classic Cougar world.

Hi Al, I’ve not found the thread you mentioned. Can you post a link, please?
Thank you.

Here you go.

Ah okay, I got it  But well, this is a Convertible…

I‘m looking for a Hardtop Coupe because it looks more sporty.

large group of owners, they put out a members book. Might be a good resource?

They are also way stiffer, which makes a huge difference in how they drive.

Thank you. Yes, the German “chapter” of the worldwide Cougar family is a good resource. We already spoke with a member last weekend and he admits, that the market here is relatively closed because they don’t sell their Cats so often…
