I forgot you posted about this in the Spring. I happened upon an episode of the show on MT last week. I agree it is not something I would, or even COULD do, but I have to admire the guys for trying to do something that is so out of the box. The knowledge required to make all that wiring and electronics and everything work outside of where it was originally born, to me, is amazing.
I think this will become more common as time goes on, parts become available and the aftermarket/enthusiast community learns more about electric powertrains. Ford Performance even sells a Mustang Mach-E crate motor now (although useless without batteries, control electronics, etc):

Hopefully this falls into the “any publicity is good publicity” category. Nice to see a classic Cougar on TV, I guess even if they’re ruining it! At least they’re not doing it to one of mine.
