Does anyone know if the 1970 cougar door panel clips are the same ones used on the rear interior quarter panels thanks
The rear interior side panels do not use any type of clips to hold them in place. The top fits over a lip by the quarter window, there are 2 screws that hold the panel in place near the bottom of the panel and there is a small tab at the upper rear area that uses 1 screw to hold it in place against the upper rear seat reinforcement sheetmetal. That tab is usually broken off. The front edge will have a piece of windlace that holds it in place along the door jamb.

Kim freeson told me at the front of the panel about 10 inches up there’s a metal horseshoe shaped bracket that takes a clip there’s a hole right adjacent to the bracket so it kind of makes sense what do you think thanks Dan
Yes, there is a metal bracket on the panel. I do not ever remember taking a car apart though that had a door panel style clip on that bracket. I think it was actually there to be a spacer to hold the panel out from the inner sheetmetal.
