Those wheels really make that color pop!
Price sounds reasonable from your description & what can be seen. It is fairly basically optioned, so someone looking for the holy grail of Cougars will pass by, but I’m sure you’ll get some hits soon. If not, you may want to list it on some other sites - I’m not a fan of e-bay or craigslist, but B.A.T. or classiccars may open it up some. I’m sure others members can add some good sites.
Adding those rims definitely makes a statement. Too bad I’m in NH and the car in TX, or I would take a closer look…
Saw the ad on ClassicCars - that will hopefully get some interest going. If I remember correctly they should run it until sold so long as you answer their e-mail reminder every few months (I sold my last Cougar thru them last year). In the meantime - ride & enjoy it (at least in TX you should have a much longer season than we do in NH)…
Yeah! I was looking too, and that’s the closest I could find. I guess If it comes to it I’ll need to send a paint chip out?
I am not an expert on this subject but I believe that a special order paint color would still be a color that Ford/Lincoln/Mercury was using for that model year. It just was not a “standard” color for that model. I would think that you should be able to find your color by looking at the 1970 paint chips, as a long shot perhaps even the 1969 paint chips. I could be wrong but I do not believe that they offered “custom” colors as special order paint.

I have a perfect 4 speed for the car if you are interested. PM with interest. Would not be cheap, concours detailed and perfect.

Looks clean!!! I think you got a buy !
Great looking car, love the wheels and the color is awesome.
With I had the funds.
Taylor Restorations is now doing some work on this Cougar for the new owner. 24 inch radiator upgrade, power disc brake upgrade, 5 speed transmission upgrade. Should be lots of fun to drive when completed. The original paint, vinyl top, and interior are indeed very nice!
