427 Side oiler block "C7"

My machine shop has a 427 block for sale, I have not seen it, nor have anything to do with it, just letting people know:

“We’ve got a very nice 1967
427 Side oiler block here that’s for
sale.C7AE-A part number with a '67 date code.
Standard bore. $4200If you know anyone that would
be interested.”

Contact me & i’ll get you info.

Thanks, Bill

What’s the date code? Is it drilled for hydraulic lifters?

Bill –

Do they have the heads too? If so, can you ask if there’s a partial vin number stamped on the end of the head(s)? Thanks.

Jim

Hmmm…Let’s see… If we put the '67 427 in the '64 Galaxie, and find an engineless GT-E for the '68…
Funny how Cougars were raided for their 7L engines back in the day.

He replied-
" No, no heads or vin #'s. Date code appears to be 7B7. It is solid lifter as the hyd lifter blocks didn’t
come out until '68."

Naw…just stuff a 390 into the Galaxie and dump it! you’ll end up with that early casting block for $10,000k± .

Worth it.

Yes, and the casting number starts with C8. It was implemented as early as June '67.

Correct-a-mundo. This is a 427 Fairlane/Comet/Galaxie block only. Pretty hard to find and quite rare. There are just so few cars that came with it from the factory…
