67 Re-rebuild

Been thinking about wheels lately… wanting to get rid of the adapter set up. I’ve gone from the coys to american racing daytonas to a Shelby style to wanted an 8-10 spoke. I think something similar to a new BOSS302 wheel could potentially look slick. Or even FR500 wheels. But backspacing would still be an issue with them.

Drove down to drop off some cash at the body shop. Update pic.

Drove the 3hrs down again today. Body shop is PAID OFF! Happy about that one. More update pics. Getting ready to prime the whole car grey, block, and then prime in black.

I know it’s a great feeling to have the body shop paid off. Looks like everything is going good from the pictures. What’s the time frame to get it in paint?
Steven

It will be a little while, but I wanted to get the body straight and the flake GONE. Having it sealed so it will be alright to drive. My paint/body guy knows I’m waiting to paint until about Jan-Feb. But black primer is better than bassboat maroon. I have 2 quarters left in school before I start work. I have summer break from May-September and I don’t need any classes offered then. So I’m planning interior touch up and either drop in the T-5 or do the Cobra 13" disc swap. Torn over which to do first as they are both needed since mine has been and will be on the road almost daily. My buddy did the 12.5" GT brake swap onto his 68 mustang coupe and it worked out great and he’s volunteered to help if I can get the cougar over to Austin.

3 hrs from Ruston and down . Is body shop in Lafayette or Lake Charles? Progress is looking good, I’d do the T5 swap first since you’ll wait on the paint and the rubber on those cobra rims look pretty good. You might be laying into first and chirping second when she is done.

Yea probably what I end up doing. I actually graduated high school in Oakdale. Small town 1 hr from Lake Charles and 1 hr from Lafayette. It is at a body shop there. Only ones I knew I could trust to do me right. I grew up in Lake Charles though.

Getting parts in and not having the car here is the worst. Still happy to have them though.

Decided on Polk Audio DXi525 after finding them most aesthetically pleasing and reading nothing but positive reviews.

Also, since I will be out of school for the summer, I applied for a second job. How’s that for wanting to push the car progress forward?

SavantJK, Those look like the same boxes that I got in about a year ago. Keep plugging at it and it will happen. SalD

Humm, wonder what’s in those boxes…the cardboard mystery. On a previous post you mentioned 10 spoke wheels. I’m running Ultra 454’s 17"x8" on my '69…picked them up for less than $800 from Mustangs Unlimited.

Speakers look nice…

67.5,
Those look sick! I had been trying to track down Rev and BOSS wheels that resemble them (budget purposes), but haven’t made progress. I’ll check into those. Thanks for the tip man!

PS – it was carpet, kick panels, speakers, SEMS paint, and a cigarette lighter USB hub for the iPod and phone. Waiting on the streetwires amp wiring kit (because they use all copper wire) and fuses to come in. Working with Don @ Sound Deadener Showdown on some supplies too. Should be on the way as soon as he sends me a number!

Thanks Mo! I thought they had a more low-profile and classier look than the ones with the flashy grilles and what not.

If you would like to see those wheels in action,…watch, Gone in 60 Seconds. I think her name is Eleanor.

It’s been a while since I updated… I finally got the car back from the body shop. It is sitting in satin black right now. What I thought was going to be a rough prime job turned out to be a nice paint job. So I can’t really complain about the time it took! Body is super smooth too.

More pics and updates to come.

Wheels on. Need to bring the front down a tad.

Those are some sharp looking wheels! I like them a lot. :ylsuper:
Steven

WOW, that satin black looks nice, very STEALTH looking. :ylsuper: John

Thanks! I had hoped to spend about $6-800 on a set, but decided it was better to save up and shell out the extra cash to get what I really wanted.

'Preciate it! I really like the satin black. It pairs with the hidden headlights so well. My buddies all want me to leave it. I still have plans to paint it, but I don’t feel bad about bumping that down the line to some other projects.

Good day for the car.

Rotors and calipers from a 2008 GT came in.

Also my NPD and MU orders came in as well. 2 new front hubs, all new bearings and races (moog), new seals, new dust covers, and new tubular tie rod adjusters. Ready to get to installing!
