Very unusual Cougar with a/c, Factory Bench seat. I think the spinner hubcaps were a dealer option. Standard F Code car and love the light blue color. Says that the a/c works.
Never saw one with a bench seat. Very cool. Love the white.
Blue Buddy, Blue! (It does look white doesn’t it) The bench seat is really peculiar.
That sure looks white to me. Again I LOVE paint jobs that change color in different light. But holy cow. I really thought it was white. I guess I also didn’t look at ALL the pictures. And the first time I saw a bench seat.
Tiffany blue, later Diamond blue.
The embossed trim pcs on the front seat backs look odd….not the same as rhe rest of the car….maybe the angle
The embossed strips on the front seat ( backs ) are the same as on the upper door panels and the rear seats [ both the seats themselves and on the rear interior ( quarter ) panels ]. Same interior as on a 1968 Cougar I once had - except for the bench seat. Notice the bolster on the passenger lower dash - indicative of the early production number for this Cougar ( 501 289 ) this was phased out ( sometime ) in the 1968 production run.
The ‘dealer optional spinner style’ hubcaps were also on my 1969 Cougar XR-7 ( San Jose Production ) - not sure if they came that way or were also changed at the dealership. ( Image from WCCC )
mopauly 1965 I agree about the Diamond Blue color looks white, especially in contrast with it’s black vinyl top. I saw this ‘nice 68 Cougar in person 3 years ago in Alamagordo, NM, and thought it was white until seeing it on BAT. The blue tint is very subtle! The side moldings didn’t seem original, but had done a great job of keeping dings at bay. The tow bar on front was for flat-towing behind a Detroit Diesel’ed Bluebird Wanderlodge Class A motorhome. Had to get a pic of it when I saw it had a rare bench seat. Even rarer is to find that only 152 of the '68 Cougars with color code N got the 4B blue bench seat trim!
Sold yesterday for $15,750
