Thanks again Badcatt I’m trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong
Picked more of it apart, there’s a little more rust in the floor than I thought.
Looks really solid!
Over all it is, trunk is the worst.
Thanks for saving her!

Found this under carpet on driver side rear floor pan , makes you wonder where and what it was used for on the assembly line
IIRC it is for the alignment of the lower dash.
I haven’t done any thing in a while, a couple small items setting around I finished up with the pieces of leather left over from the console, the pull straps and the upper console sun visor piece, my stitching didn’t end up perfectly straight, the under lying foam , canvas, plastic strip was in pretty ruff shape on the driver’s side , the pull straps ends are from wccc, the stickers I’ve had a long time ironically they match my dash overlay I had made, the stickers that come with the ends aren’t even close
Looks pretty good Randy.
These babies came today, I had a hard time peeling the money out for them they are the one item I think are more expensive than they should be but I don’t like how the GT manifold ports don’t line up
I was at a car show last weekend and for the first time ever since I bought my GT-E there was another GT-E next to mine with a W code engine. He actually noticed that I had CJ exhaust manifolds!
Working on it trying to get ready to cut the roof off, the under structure is not savable , it’s probably so bad because it has two vinyl tops on it
I am wondering if you are mistakenly thinking there are two vinyl tops, while what I believe I see is the original top which was made out of two layers and they are separating. Good luck with the project, I love these cars and it is nice to see another one coming back from the dead.
Gry looking closer I believe you are correct.
Got some stuff pulled off in preparation for removing the roof, if I totally screw it up I’ll have a lot of parts to sell!
I bet you can do it Randy. Remember the line workers were just average guys. If you do it pretty much like the factory did it can’t be that hard.
Good luck!

Removed the rest of the suspension parts, got it on some rollers, got the roof out of the storage trailer I hope to start cutting tomorrow, I don’t know why the picture is sideways?
No turning back now, I made a pattern of the angle of the cut on the new roof A pillar and transferred markings to old one, I wouldn’t have gone that low but I had rot down there which I didn’t know why but there is a third piece in the A pillar that comes up in a couple inch’s and debris must have collected there , the A pillars are made up of two pieces I’ve staggered the cuts about 10” or so, i should be able to line it up perfectly matching the long length area which will be good because even though I supported the car in 4 places it had tension, even though it wasn’t in my plans I think I’m going to deal with the 1/4 panels now it makes more sense
