69 428 R-code Eliminator For Sale

I have placed my 1969 Eliminator for sale on Ebay. Its a real R-code Ram Air Car with only 62k original miles. I’m looking to get a 69 Torino Cobra like I had in high school back in the early 1080’s. I have set the Buy it Now price at $47,999 but the reserve is somewhat less. Anyone interested or would like additional info give me a call at: (860) 608-1885

Dear racingagainstcancer,

Why can’t you non car guys quit ruining a classics originality because you don’t like the factory colors and then change it and ruin it??? If you don’t like the color DON’T buy it!!! Now it’s only worth 10-18K because after a true classic muscle car guy gets it, he will have to disassemble it again and have it actually “restored” and that will be another 10-20K!!! A restored car is put back to factory original specs the way it came from the factory!!! ’

My Reply:

Dear bgasioro,

Where the hell does it say I changed this car???I bought the car they way it is and I’m ok with it. If you don’t like they way it looks then don’t bid on it. At least I was honest in my description. Nuff Said!!!

When I had my 72 Road Runner up for sale I got idiots like that. Only it was becase he thought my opening bid was to high. My sarting bid was $9,750 and one guy thought the car was only worth about $6,000 and said he would bid on it if I put a more reasonable starting bid. Well the car sold for $11,000 altho not on ebay. I got much better results from the Recycler and Craigs list . Sold both the 72 RR and 70 Charger R/T off Ebay. Ebay worked me to death sending pics all over the country with no results. I must have sent one guy alone 200 of coarse it was pics of this one day and pics of that another. Oh and I did not have to give Ebay a cut ! I hope your luck with Ebay is better than mine.

Scott that’s one beautiful ride! I think you were way to nice to that guy. I would have just told him to F**k off.

Update: My E-cat is still for sale, ebay was not too helpful. I have lowered the price to a a firm $40K. Anyone have any interest?

Great price!!! Sure would like to park that next to mine but I also want to keep my wife … and happy!!

1969eliminator, Maybe if you told her the Blue R-code was hers as in a “his and hers” pair of E-cats she would allow it? lol

Out of morbid curiosity… What do you think is holding your e-cat from selling Scott? I know the whole color thing and some deviations from stock, but it is still a rare piece and something that I would think should find a home.

Not to speak for Scott, but this is a tough economy to sell a car and on top of that it’s kind of the wrong time of year. Not many want to buy a classic just in time to put it up for the winter. That’s my take anyway.

I think the thing holding back the sale is a combination of things, the economy, the time of year, the color change, and most importantly it is not a Moosetang. Lets face it, us Cougar lovers are a real minority in the classic car population. It it was a CJ Moosetang I bet it would have months ago and most likely for even more money than I am willing to take now.

Its no real big deal if it does not sell. I have plenty of room in the back secure area of my shop and it can stay there indefinitely keeping my two G cars company. The only reason I was trying to sell it was to move onto something else. I have this bad habit of buying cars that are mostly finished then finishing them up myself then quickly grow tired of them once the challenge of finding the parts and improving them to a decent level is gone. I still have my J-code G-car to finish over this winter so I am all set for now with something to keep me busy.

Yeah Scott, I think there is plenty of interest! …but not enough in the budget for most folks right now :-/

I’m sure you guys saw the '70 E-cat, comp green, 428 / 4speed car on ebay. It didn’t even break $35k. I know your car is not the same as that one, but it just shows how the market is right now. Crummy, if you are selling.
