Anyone know if the Steel Products A pillar weatherstripping for a 69 Cougar convertible fits any better? The Steele Products version is very expensive at nearly $240. I tried the Daniel Carpenter and it does not fold properly at the pillar. All the screw holes were used and fit snug against body like original but you can see the issue in the picture.
Following. Mine need replaced on my 70 as well, but I have not done it after hearing that none of the replacements fit right.
When we have the luxury of a choice I am inclined to believe the second guy to offer the product has figured out that they have an opportunity because the first attempt was bad. let’s see if that works out.
I would recommend that you check with Steele as to their source for this weatherstrip. It is possible that they are selling the Carpenter product as their own. I do not know that this is the case, only that it is a possibility.

The Daniel Carpenter is made in China. Auto Krafters states theirs is made in the USA. I just wanted to know if anybody had tried any others. This will save me a headache and shipping costs to know for sure. I would be open to NOS weatherstripping if anyone has any.
