WOW! That’s a lot of sheet metal :grimacing:
Heh… about the same amount that mine has had replaced ~ minus the floors and rear aprons.

But hey! At least it’s out of the field and getting restored! Can’t wait to see it back on the road!

Nice, brings back fond memories but mine needed a little more than this one. Its got good bones so stay at it, looks great!

I applaud the tenacity :grinning: I’m partial to comp green eliminators. Is that a white interior car? Looks similar to my '69 Eliminator that I haven’t touched in two years…

Chris your build thread was my motivation to start my car

Bill,

IIRC weren`t there just 2 comp green sunroof eliminators.? I remember that 1 person that has one in Australia and there was a guy on here that found the other in a salvage yard that had no drivetrain and decided to make a pro touring car out of it. Either way, that car is going to look fantastic once done…

thanks

There are presently 4 Comp Green Hertz Eliminators in the registry. I would guestimate based on typical survival versus production numbers that there were at least 10 Comp Green Hertz Eliminators but less than 20 produced.

Ok i found some clarity to this,

there were 2 70 comp green eliminators that had California emissions. Both cars are present. I had to look it up online and found the archive to this.

thanks

Talking about the Hertz Eliminators here, Marti info shows 2 in comp green with CA evaporative emissions that also have White standard interior.

The car in this post is comp green with CA evaporative emissions and a BLACK Standard interior.

Considering the very low production numbers, I’d hazard a guess that this was the only comp green Hertz Eliminator with black interior that was sent to CA.

Your probably right mike,
these eliminators are rare to begin with and even rarer with the sunroof option and CA emissions.

thanks

Ok, So here’s whats left, I deliver shell Monday to be dissected…

I saw on another site you were looking for info about Shore City Lincoln Mercury. As far as I remember, it was around from 1970 to 1982. The owner allegedly committed suicide over business problems. I have a plastic trunk plaque if you want it. I can mail it to you. In 1970 it may have been a die cast metal but this one is plastic. I don’t want anything for it. I would like it to go to someone who would appreciate it.

Hi pat,

Nice to hear from you. I lived in RI from when i was born (1974) till 2002 and i always tried to gather information about that dealership when i got myvkevin marti report. We got my 70 from my dads old boss that is owner of providence lacquer and supply centre in Cranston. I would be honored to have that plaque for my car. I would have it restored to show it off when my car is finally finished. I wil definitely take it from you. Ill cover the shipping costs. Just let me know .

Thank you for reaching out to me.

Pat

Getting back on the posted topic… I just went to see the car Sunday. Back half is now fitted to car. I took doors & hinges to ensure fit. Should be going to blasters in a few weeks. Pics soon.

Please keep personal exchanges private and not on top of a topic not related to your private discussions…

Moving right along. My '69 Eliminator needs a similar amount of medal work on the rear but I opted to save the original rear frame rails/lower window panel/quarter structure and the staggered shock brace. Otherwise, this is certainly the more efficient method as I had to drill out hundreds of spot welds

Only the 4 speed cats got the staggered shock ( which is avail in reproduction. Contact me) The 428 & Boss cats got it, but not the 351’s even if they are 4 speed. They did get the rear sway bar though.

This Cat was left outside way too long sadly…

The owners did NOT want a rebody, This was the fathers Cat, and son & brother are doing this Cat.

Thanks all. The credit must go to the 2 guys doing the work. It only took 1.5 years 3 different people to finally find someone willing & able to do this work.
