American Muscle Car: Mercury Cougar (Full TV Episode)

Watched the show for the 3rd time last night. Best Cougar coverage I have ever seen to date. Minimal or no incorrect information, great mix of “in action” clips, glamor shots and owner interviews and many of my favorite customers and their cars to boot!

Why is it that I want to go and switch out my 2 bbl intake and single exhaust out on my plain 'ol 68 302, suddenly?

That video never gets old…

Here’s Scott, me, Phil Parcells and the PO of Jeff’s car getting instructions on how to do a burnout for the cameras from AMC producer Chuck West.

Not a Cougar video but I found this to be riveting…

That is absolutely amazing! I know they say they hope everyone survived those crashes, but some of them look like survival would have been a flat-out miracle…

I really enjoyed watching that episode. The coverage was great. My hat is off to every Cougar owner that was in that show. It’s great to see our cars get the coverage they deserve.

As far as the grille, it can be argued both ways. Yes there are press photos with Cougars with out of line headlight doors. To me it takes away from the beauty of the design if the grille and doors don’t align correctly. If we notice it other car owners notice it as well. They don’t know about the constant strain the vacuum motors put on the bucket assembly. All they see is a bent, droopy grille assembly. So I say fix it if you can.

I have always been jealous of the Chargers and their laser straight grilles (like the one in this video). Far superior design if you ask me.

Almost as elegant as a Cougar too! IMO, :sunglasses:

The interiors on the Mopars just do not cut it for me. Too spartan, cheap looking. Love the massive console in the 66 along with the fold down back seat though!

69’s are more my speed, but after D.O.H., they got REAL pricey! Loved the Recessed back Glass!

Thanks for posting this video because it is fantastic. The old Cougars are awesome and I will someday own one that is drivable.

Thanks for posting this - I didn’t realise it was out there on youtube.

We had a fantastic time filming that show. I’ve had plenty of fun in the R Code over my 25 years (& counting) of ownership, but that weekend was the best! Thanks guys!

This and the Pinkerton GT-E 4 speed show are two of my favorite Cougar videos! Maybe I can find a link to that one…

It is the last one on this list on our site.
