Put the video of the actuator working 95% on YouTube.
I think it would swivel to one side naturally but with a angled edge it would only stay to one side.
I like the video, the speed looks good. Mine will be for my 68 so I will be using 2 actuators but I should be on the same track as yours.
The 67/68 have 2 individual vacuum motors, you get to have twice the fun!
I just spent a good 15 minutes documenting what I did today on the project, but it looks like it didn’t get up here.
Guess I’ll have to do it again…

I was expecting “Also Spach Zarathustra” to be playing while the actuator moved.
Ha! Ha! I must admit I had to look that up, theme music to 2001 a Space Odyssey. Very good!
Here a new video with it working 100%.

To get it working 100% I had to modify the bottom mounting bracket by elongating the screw holes. This allowed for me to move the actuator back toward the radiator so it would have a slightly different angle as it pulls. That and adding 1/4" spacers to the lower bracket, so it moved the actuator down a bit. In reality I could just make the bracket longer by that 1/4" but this was easier.
I picked up some dowels and cotter pins and will be replacing the bolts with those.
I’ll paint the brackets and should be able to install it this weekend.
If you wanted it to be more secure you could add to the bracket to catch the lower A/C condenser bolt, but I don’t feel that is really necessary.
Below are some additional pictures.
Well, it’s all done and installed in the car.
Here’s a YouTube video of it working when the lights are turned on and off.
Wired the switch signal to the center wire of the floor mounted “brights” switch.
Attached the +12V to the starter solenoid input and ground was picked up on the chassis next to the radiator (battery side), that is also where I installed the relay harness.
I’m very happy with the results.
With that said, I did not remove any vacuum lines or the reserve tank, I just plugged up the two vacuum lines that use to go to the vacuum actuator.
I want to be able to revert to the original setup if things don’t workout or if some future owner wanted to revert the car to the original setup.
Here are some final pictures of the assembly…
where did you get the light signal from?
The floor mounted brights switch, it’s the center wire. Mine was red with a yellow line.
Looks good
