Anyone Used Old Air Products A/C

I have the chance to get one of these units for the 69 convertible

http://www.oldairproducts.com/catalog/heat-cool-defrost-systems/old-air-products/ip-1069m/ac-unit-inside-package-p-4450.html

The key advantages are:

  • because of the compact size they fit in right hand drive without modification
  • it is here in Oz and so I can avoid several undred dollars in shipping fees
  • I don’t have to take a used a/c box and mirror image the internals to make it fit RHD
  • it is new and not fragile like a used a/c box
  • I won’t be destroying an original a/c box in the process

The things I don’t know

  • will it blow enough air for hot days
  • I’ll have a lot of tubes running under the dash so I don’t know if there will be any interference issues
  • how accurate are the electronic controls in getting the air distribution to work
  • how reliable they are

Anyone had any experience with these

BTW - Vintage Air and Classic Air need a lot of mods to fit RHD

Can’t help with all your questions but the electronic controls that came with my Vintage Air unit work very well with my '70 levers. The VA system has a learning mode you can run to re-calibrate them if they get out of sync somehow.

The duct work is likely very similar too. It’s flexible enough to move around obstacles.
