Dash lights

Electrical is far from my strong suit. If I am understanding Midlife correctly though perhaps this will help you. Think of your headlight switch like a light switch in your home. There is always power to the one side of the switch but until you flip the switch the light will not be turned on. Again if I am understanding Midlife correctly there is always power to your headlight switch but until you pull the knob out there is no power sent to any of the lights, dash lights included. Hopefully Midlife will confirm if my thinking is correct. Or correct me if I am wrong.

The issue is resolved, I cleaned out the fuse clips and still had no power? I then turn the key and pulled out the headlight knob kinda hard and it works now? Maybe being a new headlight switch the connector inside was not moving freely. Now I need to clean up the spaghetti under my dash.
