Dead Cougar Garage

Well Greeny let me down tonight. Stuck in BG. The heat soaked big block starter quit. Hagerty on the way. Towing it to Lucore. More news later. Get Hagerty insurance. Well worth it. More later!!!

You couldn’t kick start that beast?

Wish I could. Dead. Better it happens now. Planning on taking him to the Ford opening Nov 19.

Greeny on the trailer. Starter gone away.

11/2

I guess Greeny wanted to hang in Bowling Green awhile longer…

Probably not a cheap tow down to Columbus

No it’s all under the Hagerty plan. 100 miles. Can opt for longer. But that gets me columbus. My rate will go up I’m sure. But don’t care. Just got a call from the driver. It’s at Lucore now. More updates later.

NICE! I’ve got State Farm, and my last claim (not the Cougar) was a total PITA. Tempted to change to Hagerty.

Video before the betrayal.

Update. Hagerty insurance is the greatest. Called them, had it on the truck in just over an hour. Heading to Lucore Automotive in Plain City Ohio. Going to get more of the punch list taken care of. What’s the best starter for this application??? Don’t care if it’s stock. Just want it to work in ALL conditions. Other than that, just getting ready to take to the Ford show on the 19th. Is anyone going??? Still haven’t received a reply. How do I get another CCCOA sticker???

I’m guessing you got great mileage on THAT trip (for once).

Haven’t calculated it yet. But I’m sure it’s like 8 to 10, maybe…

How many times did the stock starter work in the last 55 years??? And how old are you now?? If you could get a starter that was equal to the old one , id be happy

Is there a starter/gen shop in your area

Yes it’s at Lucore Automotive in Plain City Ohio. They have a YouTube channel. It’s on there. Check it out. Gonna do some other stuff.

I meant on the back of the trailer…

If it’s an original FoMoCo starter core, don’t let it go! They aren’t that hard to rebuild, and will work for years. Rebuilds from China won’t.

Just found this on my phone

Probably a bad connection at the starter solenoid or battery terminal.

Under dash electrical problem. Should fix the tach as well.

Are you a CCOA member? Should get a decal when you join and one every time you renew.
