Do you know this Cougar ??

Hi Guy’s,
I’m a newbie here. I’m not new to classic fords but I am new to the cougar. As you can tell by my username, I am a 351C fanatic. My Brother just bought a 68 cougar a couple months ago and is beggining his restoration (restomod). Since I have restored a few mustangs myself, I have voluntiered to help him.

Today while searching the web for a hood for my brother, I stumbled upon the WCCC website. While on the WCCC website, I stumbled across this picture (attached) of a ragtop cougar while in the “hood scoop” section of the online catalog. This cougar is unbeleivable beautiful !!!. What an unbelievable restomod. It is without the question one of the most gourgeous restomod convertibles of the muscle car era I have ever seen. Can anybody here tell me anything about the cougar in the picture ? Does it belong to someone on this forum? I’m curious about the exact year (I think '69), motor type/size, tranny, trim package / features, and the color. I love this color, any idea as to the paint color ?

Sorry to seem so obcessed with this cougar but it is an unbelievable car. The color fits the body/profile so well.

I emailed the people at WCCC about it and they suggested I ask someone on this website. I dont know how to do that without joining the forum

I have 3 mustangs myself (66 ragtop, 68 fastback, 69 Mach I). The first 2 I had restored and the Mach I is currently in process. After seeing the photo of this cougar, its enough to wet my appetite to do one of these felines.

I appreciate any information

This is a 69, it has some eliminator parts and stripes but not sure if its an Eliminator, she is pretty though, be different and come to the cat, you will never go back… lol

No factory '69 or '70 Eliminator 'verts built. Also, the stripes are for a '70 Eliminator. I really like the color on that car. John

I don’t know who the car belongs to that you put up, but I thought you may like these as well, both are 70’s and by the way, welcome to CCC!

The first two are Charles Popenoe’s car, done by KTL, second one looks to be from the 2011 AFN’s (where Charles took first place in the 69/70 XR7 'vert class).

The car first posted as to topic of the thread, very nice indeed!

That car belongs to Dan Mohry of Bethlehem PA. As luck would have it he sent us a picture of the car today! Give us a ring for contact info.

Thats great Don!
I just called WCCC a couple times and I get the recording. I figure you guy’s are busy or are out to lunch (I’m in Ohio) so I left a VM.

I would really appreciate having the information so to contact the owner of this amazing car.

I appreciate the response from all the members of this forum. … and Cougar2, yes those photos you posted are some incredible cars as well !

This '69 ragtop of Dan Mohry has got my attention !
