Dragging home a parts car - 68 XR7

Before you get too excited, it is a complete rust bucket, not a single panel worth saving but the good thing is that its pretty complete. I don’t really need anything, but I plan on pulling the driveline for future projects or sale then scrapping the rest after the Cougar faithful have a chance to pick it over. It’s an XR-7, 302 2V, C4, non power drums, a/c, no console…

Consider this a heads up, I should have it this weekend and will post up some pics once I do, so get your wishlists ready. For those in the north Florida area, my shop is Gainesville, you are welcome to come pick on the carcass in person. Prices for parts will be somewhere between ridiculously low and free…

Frank

Does it have original shocks? Also looking for a very good trunk devider.

Here tis…

Hey Classy, I’ll know more next week when I get it out of the weeds…

Rarecat, when you get it out of the weeds, there are a few items I could use in the ridiculously low and free category.

I’d love to get the headlight vacuum motors, if they are believed or known to be working. That’s all I really need.

Well, it’s out of the weeds and at the shop. VIN submitted to Phil and Cougar DB. Took some more pictures and loaded them up to photobucket. Will probably start the teardown in a couple of weeks

Here are the pics:

Hard to read the door tag.

‘IM’ for the color code? Two tone lime frost with white top? Am I reading that correctly?

IM is the color code…

Rare cat, just 1 of 372 factory Two Tone, on a 1968 XR7.

Wow, it’s officially a steaming pile of RARE dung! LOL! Thanks Scott!

Hey, Frank! Received my lenses, big THANK YOU!!!

Anyone else looking for pieces, Frank did right by me, and shipped fast!

Hi- Does the motor still have the original fan clutch and, if so, what is its part #?

Are you selling any more parts off this car Frank?

How are the kick panels? If they are not cracked and aren’t already spoken for I’ll take em.

Hi Guys,

Yes, still parting it out. Sorry Al, sold the grill locally. It does have the original cluch fan, I’ll check the part number when I get back to the shop, I’ll also check on the condition of the kick panels

Frank

The fan is a C60E-G 6 Blade Clutch Fan and the kick panels are decent, black, not cracked but passenger side screw hole is oversized and the driver side has an extra screw hole…

If the interior is dark ivy gold, I could use a good drivers arm rest too.

The interior is black

Any word on vacuum motors? Or did those go with the grille? My passenger side motor needs replaced, doesn’t like to close.
