You should get a thermo scanner and check the radiator for cold spots which could mean blockage. Do you have an NOS or original Ford temperature sensor in the intake. The auto parts ones all read high.
Timing is set to 10 degrees BTC.
I am going to look for a used 7 blade fan before I do anything with electric fans - see if that helps.
Be sure to get the clutch… you can over speed a fixed fan and it will break and put a hole in something expensive. Also, the fan needs to fit the shroud. If the fan is too small the shroud actually makes it less effective.
I got the shroud from WCC and it is a 390 shroud. My assumption is that a stock fan will fit correctly.
That’s right. There were several 7 bladed fans that Ford offered, not all the same as the stock fan.
