Eliminators on the Market (February 2013)

Now I’m getting confused.

Did he take the good quarters and put them on the Eliminator? If so, why does it now have the aftermarket sunroof?

Or did he just transfer all the Eliminator parts to the doner car? If so, why are there pictures of the quarters being removed from the Eliminator?

If I had to guess. It appears as they removed the quarters from the Eliminator and it revealed really bad rust issues. So, they went to plan B and moved the Eliminator items to the donor Cougar.

The pics of the Eliminator with the quarters being removed are from March 2012, the seller previous to the current one. So I think current seller bought the Elim and Donor and decided it would be so much easier to just put the Elim stuff on the donor car instead. Swap the VIN, call it money in the bank.

I wonder what happened to the real Eliminator body.

This 70 just popped up on eBay tonight.

I’m gonna take a swing at it but I have a feeling this will get out of my price range real fast.

Wow… what a nice project to finish. Really wishing right now my garage wasn’t over flowing and I had more room.

I REALLY hope that isn’t a 3.91 or 4.30 car or I may have to start selling organs.

Sean

V code 3:91 traction lok axle…so what’s a good kidney going for these days :poke:

The rear end that he took a picture of according to the tag is a 28 spline 275 ratio. Its out of the car so its confusing if thats whats under or a spare?

I think the tag is to the rear end currently in the car that doesn’t go with it. The seller states :

“I did find a drum to drum N case - T-lock 9” out of a 70 Mustang, not 100% Sure of the ratio but rest of it looks correct for the car. If the car sells, I will set the motor in the engine bay and swap out rearends before it ships out. Ill need about a week to get it all done.

It would have been nice of him to save the stripe kit for whoever bought the car. I guess he must have needed the $66.

I have had that seller saved on my ebay list for quite some time. He is a dealer the offers up some nice rust free projects from that area and usually has girls in the pictures as well. Looks like these pictures were take a lot different than he normally does as most are at his business. have a feeling he is listing it for the owner.

Wow! That will make someone a great project!

I can’t view the pics here at work, but what would you guys guess as a “reasonable” selling price?

…the rusty blue boss cat was around $20k with trans and 351 engine. Another one, orange 351, no rust, was priced around $35k recently.
Would a green/white rust free boss, non-matching eng, minus trans, fetch around $35k?

I think $35K is plenty of money for this car. But I guess it depends how bad someone wants one.

Dave’s old blue one just sold at $79,000 so working backwards from there. I wouldn’t go over $32,000

Its my car, Ill clear up some of the confusion…
I DONT have a stripe kit for the car, I was merely mentioning that one was yet installed
so if they wanted to still do paint work or wetsand whats there, it would be easier since a kit has yet
to be installed. BTW, they avg $155-175 for the 70s.

The N case pic of the rearend Out of the car is the 1 I bought recently to INSTALL into the car…
its very close to what should of been in there (other then the gearing) and honestly I took a pic of the tag, yes
BUT I never opened it up to double check, hence the reason I mention in the ad “I dont know what ratio is in the
replacement 9” . currently it has a plain jane 8" in there drum to drum.

Lastly, Im not really a dealer, yet I am known for selling cars on ebay…
that is my personal car and thats a backyard at one of my houses where the car is being stored
and my beautiful chow dog like to keep an eye on things

If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask.
Im the same guy who owned a 70 Cougar Eliminator Coca-Cola give a way car in high school.
Comp Orange, std white interior, factory electric sunroof, auto, 351C car
0F91M537364 was the VIN

btw, if there is ANY doubt on whether the story behind the car is true
my buddy, also a Boss owner and long time friend since high school here in Tucson
confirms my story and still has pics I gave him from back in the day.

Welcome, and thanks for clearing up some questions. Good luck on the sale. That is one heck of a nice solid project!

Kinda of disapointed being your own car I figured you would go all out with one of the girls in the pictures.

Here is another Boss eliminator for sale. Seller is a little confused calling it a 1971.

1971 Mercury Cougar ELIMINATOR Boss 302 “G” Code …Super rare - $11999 (N Fla)

It looks like the same fellah that is selling the Comp Orange '69. Looks like he mixed up some of his '69 / '70 pics there.
And I guess that answers the question of how the '69 ended up with a houndstooth back seat!

'70 w/ Boss302 (missing), 4-speed. Comp Orange, houndstooth interior. Rolling shell. Marti report. $11,999 in FL
