Eliminators on the Market (June 2018)

Dash is finally going back together, and the brakes are coming along ~ rebuilt the proportioning valve, changed out the brake hoses (they were all still the originals - yikes!), and the front brake lines. Still need to bleed bleed bleed them brakes, and get the export brace installed, then install my shiny rebuilt AA carb and get it tuned and running. Hopefully by this time next month I’ll be saying that it’s back on the road, just in time for the WCCC open house (July 13-14th). I think next winter I will plan things a little differently >.<

Mike, Here’s a C-L link for a 69 G-Elim in Kansas. I spoke with owner Dustin, and it sounds like quite a project…
Says he’s owned it since January 2018. The Cougar is (1) of (3) cars that’s for sale in his ad listing; other (2) are Mustangs: https://indianapolis.craigslist.org/cto/d/1970-mustang-boss-302-projects/6611110515.html

Thanks Gary, that is 9F91G587249, listed above.

$35K really?

Heavily modified project…

Update: This listing IS real, and pics (poor quality) of the actual car have been added.

'70 w/ 351C, FMX. Competition Blue, Black Decor interior. Marti Report. Consigned in MI, located in VA. $30,995
https://classics.autotrader.com/classic-cars/1970/mercury/cougar/100923128
The first pictures is a “stock photo”. The other pics are the actual car.

Pics raise a few questions - For an unrestored car it’s got some strange inconsistencies including incorrect hood and fuel door emblems, non-decor steering wheel, and it has wheel lip moldings.

To me, it does appear to have been repainted at some point ~ there is gray primer showing under some of the paint dings. Hood and Fuel door emblems appear to be correct, just poor quality pics in the listing. Not sure why it has a non-decor steering wheel, but it IS a Black Decor Interior car. No idea when / where it picked up the wheel molding either. Would be interesting to see if they are written in on the original invoice.

Added an album of some other pics I have of the car;
