First ride of the year

65 degrees in western WI on March 11th - a rarity in these parts.
Which could only mean one thing - TIME TO DRIVE THE COUGAR!

Supposed to be 65-70 all week. I love an early spring!

Enjoy the ride! I took my Cougar out to stretch its legs today. It was good to get out and drive.

A nice ride in the cat always seems to make everything right in the world :beerchug:

First drive with the top down this year. Hit 70 (degrees not mph) today here on the eastern side of WI.

70 degrees southwest of Chicago too. Took mine out yesterday and today. A great weekend!

The 10 day forecast for Chicago looks like lotsa Cougar weather.

Since I’m not taking mine out until I replace the valve covers (don’t have them ordered yet) I guess it’ll have to be Oil Change weather-- there, I’m totally ready to go.

Gotta order those valve covers!!! :frowning:

:sigh: a month and a half to go here…

Close to 80* here today…so, drove mine in to work today…

Close to 70 and beautifully sunny here yesterday. But I was in way over my head with creating a new exhaust system on the daily driver that I had no time to even think about taking one of the fun cars out. :bloated:

With my first ride of the new year behind me (last week, was also the first near breakdown!), I managed to resist the temptation yesterday and stayed focused on troubleshooting the idle mixture issue I have had since day one of Isabel’s engines life. That being the passenger side screw seems to have no effect regardless of it’s position. Through a series of tests and a reasonable substitution, I determined the metering block (of a brand new Holley 4777) to be defective. I successfully stated my case to Holley technical services this morning and they will be providing a replacement block (much to my surprise!).

After the carb stuff, I took the rear wing and cowl grate off to take to the paint shop today, marking the the start of correcting a small list of paint punch list items I have identified. Was hard to bring myself to do this with what the weather forecast is looking like this week! Going to have to spruce up the poor, dirty, neglected '94 'Stang GT 'vert in order to pacify myself. It’s long past time it got a little attention anyway.

Sounds like it was a good week and weekend for everyone weather wise. So here is a toast! Enjoy your Cougar :beerchug: driving, looking at it or cleaning it!

Man I’m spoiled here in CALIFORNIA. Pssssht I been driving my car all year! Also been breaking down and fixing things as needed. Finally feeling dependable!

I live in Minnesota and its been nice here also. I have spring fever and want to go for a cruise but I’m not going to do it until we get two good rains to get rid of the salt on the roads.

Fourth day straight without having to put the top up. Gotta love global warming.

I’ve had the 68 restomod since 1985 and never got it out in March here in MI. Put about 80 miles on it today… what fun. me and my son did some cruising and ran errors with it.
