Would you guys be interested in buying a calendar that would feature 12 months of Ride of the Month winners? I could also populate he calendar with important dates in Cougardom, like April 1st being the first day of Cobra Jet 428 Availability. Or the 4th of July, Cougar 1’s official birthday.
There are several internet sites that will produce custom calendars if we supply the photos. It looks like we could do a nice calendar for less than $20.
Great idea. I make my own each year using my own photos submitted to http://www.vistaprint.com and it ends up costing something like $5 for a nice calendar. However, it would be nice to have photos of cars other than those around my area so if you build it, I will come.
I think we have to do this one! If we have to wait until we have 12 winners, it will be a long time coming. We have our first two cars, so maybe I can put some good images up and then we can vote for our pics and do a 2012 calendar.
So lets hear some idea for cars that need to go into the first calendar. I am thinking that Chris Longs '71 CJ would be a good one. Bob’s '69 convertible, Bill’s CatVert (with credit to current owner), and for grins, the '70 Eliminator that Don is giving away!
As a video professional, whenever I’m working on a project that involves pictures… let’s say it’s 50 photos. Usually, I’ll get 10 that are awesome, 10 that are total crap and 30 that are pretty decent or average. Of course you don’t want to put the 10 best all together and the 10 worst all together.
With that said, if you’re thinking that this might become an ongoing every year thing keep some of the better candidates for the next one and the one after that.
Some of the less popular cars should be mixed with those that are.
Maybe if there were even some cool shots of Cats as they were found in barns, fields, etc.
I’d like to see one month reserved for Mangy Cat examples. Another idea is to have a before and after view within the same month when pictures of both are available. Maybe the before could be a smaller inset photo.
Before and after is a great idea… I wonder how hard it will be to get those kinds of shots. Even if it was just one month it would be cool. The before and after of your Lime Frost car would be good. I started to do a spoof post showing you car before paint, and then the after, as an ad for Cougar Wax. If it will do this for a 44 year old car, well just wait until you try it on your Cougar!
