Attending the Indy 500 this year. I don’t follow Indy car racing at all, but I’ve always wanted to attend the Indy 500 race. Have a friend who’s father worked at the track since 1950 (passed away two years ago) and now he has work it for 15 years. He is over a team of people who keeps track of pit times, tires and fuel. They also alert the media if any drama/news worthy events are taking place in the pits so it gets braodcast. So, I have kind of an in and got excellent seats and place to pop into ac if needed. Forcast is for 94 degrees, so it will be a warm one. He setup a camping spot right at the track, so should be a fun party as well

I followed it more back in the Rick Mears days.
I used to watch it religiously every year. The whole family knew the TV was mine on Indy 500 race day. I drifted away from it, though, after the CART/IRL split and just never drifted back. I don’t even know who most of the drivers are anymore. But it would still be fun to be there in person.
