Although quite a few of you know me already, I figured if I was gonna spend any amount of time here (and I plan to), maybe I should tell a little about myself. I’m a coal miner’s so, born in Ft Pierce, FL, but raised from the time I was 1 1/2 through the 7th grade in West Virginia, which I consider ‘home’. I also have the ‘Arizona connection’, moving to Tucson at the end of 7th grade when Dad retired. Owned my 1st Cougar, a forest green '68 XR7 in '78 as a HS senior and terrorized I10 between Flagstaff and Tucson in it while attending Northern Arizona University for a while. Had a 302 w/Holley 4v and headers. Don’t have a clue what the rear gears were, but would do 90 MPH turning 3000 RPM’s. And it had a real, supposedly done in Mexico leather diamond tuck interior. Man I loved and miss that car!! I have owned at least 1 cougar almost all my life since then. I’ve owned the '68, 2-'67’s, another '68, 4-'69’s including one SS and one 'vert, 3-'70’s, and recently, a '73 'vert. For various reasons/life circumstances, I have let them go, but hope to hold on to my current '70 'vert the rest of my life, or until I give it to my grandson in 15-16 years from now. Of all the years, the snaggle toothed, fanged '70 is my favorite (did I mention I consider WV home?–Only natural I would like something with one tooth…)
I will be 52 in February. Been in restaurant management since I was 19, dropping out of NAU to be a big bad assistant manager at a Burger King there in Flagstaff for a whopping salary of $200/week. Unfortunately I had to have a practice wife for a couple of years before before getting it right a couple of years later with my current wife of 23 years. I have 2 daughters, a 21 year old in her 4th year at Liberty University and a 19 year old that, if everything goes according to plan, will have her LPN by May, after which she starts towards her RN. And then there is the 19 month old Grandson, my little buddy. His momma, the 19YO had him Feb. her senior year. They live with us and life is wonderful! Anything I do around the house he is right there to help. The other night I was doing some trim work with some 1X2’s. Although I was just measuring 2-3 foot sections, I would let him hold the end of the tape measure while I made my mark. After doing 3 of these he felt like he just had to come down and ‘help’ me make my mark. Then he took his plastic hammer and hammered on the wall just like grand pa…LOL!!!
Any how, that’s about it for now. I just felt like I should make a little introduction of my self for any one interested.
Thanks
Chuck
