I’ve been thinking about how all the info could be saved, just in case.
And I’ve saved some of it, but didn’t know how to attempt to save all of it.
Cool, you guys know how to do this.
Groovy!!!
You know I’ve never used that button, it could come in handy.
The knowledge base there (as well as the, hmmm, “cultural history” of the community) is substantial and obviously worth preserving. Do you think the owner would simply agree to permit a third-party back-up with rights to publish upon their demise? I have no clue on the economics, but suspect people searching the historical database of posts are not the ones driving any profit. Maybe with an agreement not to publish while it exists on their server, they agree to permit it for free or some reasonable amount. I’d bet the CCOA would help sponsor that - we need to spend down a little. Anyone have a wild-assed guess what they paid Logan?
I 'm thinking the “other” site has suffered tremendiously since Logan departed. Being a member since Feb 2001, I watched it grow to a great site, adversly I’ve watched in dive. Now Bob is just a Couar Nut trying to keep the site alive, despite the current owners neglect.
So, keep up the work Bill (and the others behind the electrons) and your work will be rewarded!
I am finally contributing w/ a story of a “Cat Rescue” part one to be posted soon.
Again thanks Bill for all you do for us!
Cougar Bill
Guys, honestly, this is a lot of fun for me. Jay and I are working on the coolest thing right now. I can’t spill the beans yet, but it has taken years to put this together. It is the most ambitious project we have tackled so far.
