My late father owned a 1978 cougar back in the day that he put a good bit of customization into.
Would have been a 1978 cougar xr7, deep midnight blue with a light cream vinyl top as opposed to the darker tan of the decor package. I believe he painted the trunk hump a matching color cream, with matching pinstripe down the side and his initials “PJC” on the door or doors. The interior was a light cream color as well. His best friend special ordered it for him from Tasca Ford/Lincoln/Mercury back then.
