But honestly, my fog lights work fine. The problem seems to usually be with the switch on the console? As for the lights themselves I think water getting into them is the most common problem, hence the different rubber grommets that have been documented.
The Cougar my dad bought new in '69 had electrical problems immediately - and if you thumb through the 1968-'70 Shelby Registry, the SAAC club has most of the records for the warranty work that was performed on the cars when they were new and under the factory warranty - amazing all the problems that needed attention.
We tend to romanticize these cars and maybe forget a little about how mediocre the build quality was in the '60s and '70s.
