Clawlt is right on. The idler arm is the component that returns steering to center. It “winds up” in either direction and then winds back to center. Do not go for a roller bearing one. Get a good stock one such as Moog.

The new power steering pump is in and that completely took care of 99% of the slop, which is awesome, but even with the new pump and new idler arm, the steering wheel still doesn’t return all of the way to center on its own. It’s better, but not perfect. I’ll try torquing the idler arm nut a bit tighter and see if that heips.
