Regarding Documentation - When do you call it quits?

Ok … Marti Reports are great, don’t get me wrong. But are there times that a Marti report really doesn’t buy you anything more?

If I have the following information, what benefit do I get for ordering one?

  • The original owners manual that ties the car to the original owner
  • The dealer’s copy of the window sticker that shows all options, price, etc
  • multiple copies of the build sheet that shows our car as an Eliminator (one is in incredible shape). I don’t know why they had multiple copies under the original carpet.
  • copies of every title going back to the original owner and up to yours truly

Other than having another piece of paper that says the same things … I think the original paperwork is more definitive than the after the fact document. Help me if I am missing something, but I just don’t see the need.

A Marti report does contain some details that you don’t already have, for example the date the car’s order was received, the date it was bucked, etc. The question is whether a Marti Report is worth $30 in value given all the other documents you own? If it was my car it would be worth it to me, just to be able to say the Marti Report matches all the original data.

You can’t have too much documentation.

The more the better.

Papers? We don’t need no stinkin’ papers!

Then again it always nice to have backup to what you already know.

Sounds like you have plenty of papers to show what your car is and how it was ordered. One other thing a Marti report show is if your build time. It will tell you if you car was built X number of days ahead of schedule or behind schedule. a Marti report is worth the couple of dollars, it’s money well spent.

The Marti report can also tell you the rarity of your car’s features. 1 of 12,735 with that engine/trans, 1 of 2,834 with your paint/trim codes etc. That can be pretty neat to see.
