Steering Play 1968 XR7 Tilt away

I agree,

It is something on my end and the way it is installed. Now that I understand what Roger was talking about, I need to double check the installation. And after that, need to make sure the alignment was done correct

For what it’s worth, here’s my $.02: alignment has nothing to do with play in the wheel. Maybe don’t assume the control valve was adjusted- it’s easy enough to check and hard to screw up: just take off the end cap and see if the adjustment nut is loose. It’s supposed to be tightened until “snug” then backed off about a 1/8 of a turn, which should leave it still not able to be spun freely with your fingers.

Another thing to check is whether the pitman arm is fully seated on the ball stud.

I wasn’t saying it did - Royce and I inadvertantly hijacked the topic slightly. Sorry!

I will check, is there a way to tell if pitman arm is fully seated
Thank you
