New member first time posting. I was wondering if anyone has come acceoss factory stipes of side decals for a 1972 Cougar XR7 Conv.

I think you will have to have them painted on. Someone correct me if I am wrong as I’m not a big expert on 71-72 cats.
Yup, they’re painted.
The right rear quarter of my '73 was rebuilt (using good steel and better paint) and whomever did it actually found tape stripes that almost matched perfectly. But the white was a little too “BRIGHT”, and the tape has been peeling since before I ever saw the car.
After everything else has been addressed (which is gonna be a loooooooong time); I’ll see if I can talk the guy who shows up to pinstripe at “Midnight at the Oasis” into setting me up. Won’t want all the fancy “scrollwork” for which he’s known, just a couple simple skinny white lines.

No - they are painted - there is a 3M mask kit - where you just peel back what you don’t need - it seems to be what most are using.
