Talk about happening to turn on the TV at the right moment..

'69 Red HT Eliminator clone 351W 4 speed, 30K

'69 Triple black XR7 'vert, 33K

Both showed beautifully IMO.

Market’s looking up!

Same buyer on both cars. And he is one of us…

Did you see the ram air on the first car? looked like the one on your car.

I wasn’t watching that closely and my kidney was hurting, but thought it looked like the same buyer for both. Wonder who he was (that is one of us as you pointed out), is he the guy that bought Dave’s Pastel Blue B302 car a few years back? That fellow certainly seems to have “cat scratch fever”!

Yeah, I noticed the Homebrew Ram Air, the seal did not look quite the same as mine, maybe he didn’t use “Frost King” as I did? :buck: I’ll have to go back and look at the lot pictures for another look.

Yep, the person who made that setup definitely used something different for the Ram Air seal. And did anyone else notice the box on the underside of the hood, I guess to make the air cleaner base seal mate up? Can’t say I have seen one of those before, looks to have been nicely done.

Of course I’m partial, but think I like mine better. I sought out and found a different air cleaner element to get the chrome lid height where I wanted it (application is actually from a late model Hummer!). And (as things worked out), the extra rise of the Air Gap manifold put the base right up as high as it could possibly go, My ram air seal actually makes rub marks on the bottom of the hood (much to my dismay

In any case, two beauties from where I was sitting!

Looked at the black 'vert pictures too. The announcer said triple black, but the pictures show a white (or is it tan?) roof.

Man! Going to have to try and catch the Q code 4 spd 'vert.

This will be “the one” for Cougardom in 2012.

Yes the cars look great under the auctions lights

What condition were the 2 cars that sold last night? #1, 2 …
Looks like Cougar prices this year are looking up !!

It looks like the 68 KR and 69/70? Shelby type of underhood duct where it goes over the aircleaner. Some 66-67? R code Fairlanes and Cyclones used the same type of underhood box except it sealed to a oversized 2x4 base with large rubber seal around the edge.

I thought the idea was to have the filter stick up a bit to get the incoming air? Least restrictive path donchaknow?
