Thoughts/experiences with 2nd gen Bronco

With the calipers on wouldn’t it be possible to miss a crack that was on the bottom of the pad? They’d be able to see the thickness wasn’t what it should be, and see a crack that was visible on the top or side, but not the bottom right? I have nearly 0 experience with disc brakes, just the time I pulled em off my Cougar to replace the melted bushings/grommets/whatever they’re called, which were melted into a pasty goo when I bought it. That was the second fix I ever did on my Cougar. Good times.

Oh I think I figured out the problem with the brakes today. The check valve for the brake booster is awesome, super effective. But when I hooked the mityvac up to the brake vac canister, it was giving me just slightly above 0. So two things there-- 1 I think it explains the brakes not performing like I would hope, and 2 doesn’t that mean my engine is going to be performing horribly compared to how it should?

I also took off the air cleaner for the first time and got a peek at what’s under there. I gigantic Holley carb with the fuel line connecting in two separate places (?!?!) and an Edelbrock Performer 400 intake. So that was kinda neat. Something new to read up on. I have a feeling I’ll be happy with what I find. I hope so anyway.
