Twins in Cougartown, (Sarasota) FL

DAY 13 cleaned up the exterior enough to transport it to the body shop. We enjoyed a gorgeous week in the mountains of Sky Valley GA, thanks to our dearest friends Bob and Amy. We had a couple photos as it was being worked on to make me anxious for our return to Cougartown ,FL.

Day 14 having it back in black primer makes it look a lot meaner, and I love the matte look.

They also sprayed on a coating that is much like Rhino lining for the interior. so it protects from any water leaks inside the car.

Getting home, I made sure to sand and prime the door components.

DAY 15 pull the tail lights, then clean the chrome and polish up the lenses. Can you guess which one is the before? then polishing up the turn signal and marker lights

DAY 16 The day I was most excited for…CHROME The bumpers make the car look incredible!

DAY 17 Then comes putting the interior back together. Started with the Backseat…

DAY 18 Now that the rest of the car is looking tight, I had to sand down and refinish the paint under the dash, and the prior owner tried to brush paint the gauges, so i had to reestablish the color tones to look more factory.

and of course I was over anxious to see the dash together, so I had to put on the steering wheel after a thorough cleaning and lubrication…

Looks great! I like the matte black with the red wheels and poverty caps. Nice look!

“SLEEPER”…nice. Digging the flat look, as well. Black out the grill, and it would be even meaner!

Thanks,
I wanted the Black and Bling style… and the red wheels with the dog dishes kinda sets off the street racer vibe.

I will try to post more pictures tomorrow as I have painstakingly tried to reassemble the front lights and install them… I have yet to see a step by step to putting all the light components back together piece by piece.

Well,
I have now put the 1st Cougar up for sale on Ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321285465573?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

WOO- HOO!! I am curious to see if hard work and elbow grease pay off in the end.
I know Volkswagen’s are typically a labor of love because the amount of money invested is NEVER recouped at the end, but I am hoping the Cougar is a different story.

As soon as this one goes I will be either starting the next one, or if it does not sell, I might sell the both of them out as a package deal.

If you want my opinion, and who wouldn’t  I would ditch the pictures you posted on ebay and use the ones you posted on here. The ebay pictures are not the least bit flattering and aren’t going to help you sell the car.

Great Suggestion.
Sadly Ebay has really strict listing rules, so I was able to give out the website, the Forum Name and the Heading for the car, and hopefully people will know how to navigate there without the direct URL. Ebay no longer lets you put URLs into the Descriptions.

Can’t you just embed the picture links into the description?
