Vehicle Insurance

Insurance came up in another thread.

Who does everyone use for insurance.

I’m currently using Hagerty.
Fortunately haven’t had to make a claim, hope they’re good if I ever do.

American Collectors through USAA…so far, so good. No claims yet, though. (or hopefully ever).

Too bad the car has to be totally restored. I tried to get insurance and they refused to insure even though I had a daily driver.

I have State Farm for EVERYTHING: the entire fleet as well as the house. I get a multi-line discount that way. I basically told them what I want to collector stuff to be valued at. They came out and snapped a few pic, took a look at the shop/storage facility and said “Done!”

Any claims I’ve had over the years on anything has been handled quickly and fairly.

I have Hagerty and they are reasonable priced, allow the car to be used and pay claims immediately and fully. I highly recommend them.

I’ve used State Farm on all my cars for years. I had my Cougar insured with State Farm as a collector car, but after I painted it, I switched to Hagerty so I could have agreed value coverage. Hagerty’s agreed value policy costs about as much as State Farm’s stated value policy (actually it worked out to be a little cheaper for me becuase I don’t have a high value on my car).

I have Hagerty as well - no problems as of yet with them.

I aslo use American Collectors through USAA. Easy to deal with in getting the coverage you want with just a few photos. So far no claim experience but I am sure they offer top notch service with competitive pricing otherwise USAA would not have referred them to me.

You ever run through their quote system WITHOUT your USAA number?? :open_mouth:

No I did not quote it without the USAA referral, but I did check with other carriers such as Haggerty and one of the other major companies and American Collectors beat them both by a couple hundred dollars. They insure my E-cat and G car. The total annual cost is in the $425 range for an agreed value of $40k for the E-Cat and $22K for the G car (i guess i need to add more vcoverage to that one now its finished). Good part is your allowed 5000 miles per year on the cars, but I never drive more than a few hundred on each one.

Nice…I did the “Freedom” package, 7500 miles per year allowed, no restrictions on where they’ll cover it(some of their other plans would only cover while IN your garage, and at “car-related” activities, ie, shows, parades) Was pretty restrictive. Anyway, for the “Freedom” package, agreed value of 25k, paying right around 350…probably a little much on the agreed value, but….

I use State Farm jast as Mark posted on everything. Agreed on coverage, they came and snapped a couple of photos and with the multi line discount the price is very reasonable.
