WCCC Consignment Program Is Ready To Roll!

Since the inception of WCCC in 1990 we have, on occasion, taken customers NOS and high value used parts on consignment. We are now expanding our consignment program to include large quantities of reproduction parts. Some of you have had some FANTASTIC ideas for new reproductions and we want to do them all, now! But… reality is we cannot do them all at once and even if we could, the tax burden on holding huge quantities of inventory would be immense. This is an opportunity for you, the Classic Cougar Community to contribute and at the same time profit in two ways. First being, you would buy direct from our suppliers, consign with WCCC, and each quarter as we sold the consigned parts you would get back what you paid for the part plus a few bucks, on average about a 7% profit. The second way a consignor benefits is that he gets a blanket 10% off everything in our store and 30% off WCCC exclusives. Most blocks of inventory will sell in about 2 years and most invoices are $10-$30k with an occasional invoice as high as $100k. I envision this working well for the guy doing an all out, high end restoration on his Cougar. He knows he is going to spend $20k on parts in the next couple of years and he has $10-20K earmarked for paint and body. Plug the $10-20k into reproduction parts, consign them to WCCC and you have now substantially increased your purchase power. Because these kind of profits are rather elusive these days and we envision many folks wanting to participate, we are only opening this up to WCCC customers and members of this forum. I will only field questions on this forum and by phone. Here are a few parts that we would take on consignment right now and below that are a list of parts we would like someone to consign with us in the near future. Actual invoice amount will vary, these are round numbers.

67-70 rebuilt headlight actuators $19,000
67-68 repro ac vents L&R $63,000
67-78 repro dash emblems $15,000
68-70 FE Fans $ 30,000
67-68 opera lights $17,000

Parts to be considered in the near future
67-73 Cougar floor mats black $10,000
" red" $10,000
" blue" $10,000
69-70 Fuel door lens $22,000

This is just a small sampling, we got a ton of ideas where the market is ripe, the manufacturers are willing and WCCC has the ability to properly market them. Just need one more piece of the puzzle! Let me know if this sounds like something you would be interested in pursuing.

Question.

Are WCCC exclusives marked on the website s they can be distinguished from other items?

Here is a guy that sells only WCCC parts, but there are more not listed there. We will in the future have some kind of icon on all the WCCC exclusives on our site.

Don,

I love this idea! Now if I could just get kids out of College

Put me down for '68 front side marker light LENSES! Another good idea, I think, would be for T Shirts. Would a guy have to come up with quite a few of these designs to make it worth your while?

68 side marker lenses are already reproduced! A friendly guy down in OK has them IIRC. As for T-Shirts we do those in runs of 100 or so and they are not too expensive to get done. We want to keep this simple so we will not be including consignment items under $10k.

Kens Cougars in Edmond, OK…want to say they were right around $60 each…I passed, and got some of Don’s grade A used ones.

Yes, well, we know how fast an order gets filled once it is placed there  I spent a year waiting and eventally gave up…isn’t there somewhere else that could produce these, or is even legal to have a market “cornered” on these when you can’t even fill an order?

I’m just saying…

He is out of them at the moment. We could do these. I suspect that he would prefer to be able to buy a small quantity rather than have to buy hundreds.

That’s a pity, really, as he’s “fairly close” to me, as compared to Oregon, so it would be a touch more convenient…but, like you said, service talks, backordering walks.
