WCCC Open House 2016

I don’t know why we haven’t started an official thread here yet… it’s short notice for anyone who wasn’t aware, but it’s coming up this Friday / Saturday! Here’s some info:

Join us for a weekend of Cougar shenanigans! Come tour our grounds on Friday, meet the staff, buy parts, and drool over the classic Mercury Cougars that turn up. Friday evening we’ll all cruise to beautiful Silverton to have a BBQ dinner.

On Saturday morning, we’ll meet at the World Of Speed Museum for a cars & coffee event, have lunch at the Sonic burger place down the street, then cruise through the countryside and cross the Willamette River on the Canby Ferry. After that, we’ll end up back at WCCC to relax, show off our cars, and have a BBQ dinner. Finally, after dinner, we’ll cruise over to the Willamette Valley Pie Company for dessert.

There will be opportunities all weekend to have professional photos taken of your car in different environments, which means a chance to be included in next year’s calendar.

RSVP here!

So far it looks like about 40 Cougars will be in attendance - it’s going to be fun!

Is there a place I can pitch my tent and camp at WCCC?

Sounds like fun, wish I could be there!

Look forward to it!

Wish I had a little more time banked because I would love to make the drive from Georgia.

I’m really looking forward to it! Have a lot of anxiety about the high temps coming, but we’ll be alright. I just worry about the cars…(mental note, buy some water wetter)

I’m especially honored and excited to be hosting a special pair of guests at our place all weekend. I hope we don’t disappoint 'em!

Anxious to see everybody!

Being on-call for half the year (literally) makes it difficult to make plans. Hopefully I won’t be Cougarless for that much longer.

Brian, I didn’t know you were putting Heather and I up for the weekend at your place.
Too bad we can’t make it this year.

Me too! Really looking forward to it - except for the high temps, LOL! Pack extra water and extra sunscreen, and a hat as well!

What the ???

I can’t believe my eyes. Don Rush advancing on the resto of his GT-E conv? Making more progress on his GT-E than I have on mine? I am ashamed…

Guess I need to start strippin’ paint!

He just decided last week to dust it off and start bolting parts & panels on! Pretty cool to see. It’s going to be awesome when finished.

I missed the thread/post where he had the body painted. When did that occur?

I remember bringing it back from paint when I was working there in… was it 2004? Good to see parts going on to it.

Pictures are up! It’s probably easiest to just link to the full gallery on Flickr, here you go:

Here’s one teaser shot:

More glamour shots are on the way, but I’ll have to edit those separately.

Love your pictures Andrew. Great work.
This is my fav picture of my Cougar so far.

Andrew: you keep getting better and better! Great work!

Love the aerial shots, Andrew! thanks a lot…I’ve saved a few of them

Thanks guys! There are some more good ones coming too.

Neal - I like that one too! Fun editing facts: there was a telephone pole and some wires in the background that I photoshopped out. Also, your left turn signal was on, which looked unbalanced, so I “lit up” the other side to make it symmetrical.

Brian - I’m glad! I’ll go ahead and email you the full-size files. Wait until you see the video footage from the drone… fun stuff!

Smoke and mirrors… Damn! You’re good.
