It’s that time of the year again. I was out scraping my windows for that early appointment this morning. I found the bottom of a Burger King cup to be pretty effective in cutting through the frost without scratching the glass. It works better than the old cassette tape case I used to use as you dont get the frost on your hands.
Why don’t I just park ing the garage, you ask? THE SAME REASON YOU DON"T! I only have a 3 car garage and an 8 car pole barn. It’s very inadequate.
To top it all off, my wife has the nerve to want to park her van inside the garage. Is she being unreasonable?
We had a little bit of a frost this morning too. But not as heavy as I hoped. I need a GOOD one to kill off the rest of the plants I need to yank for the season and drop the last of the leaves off the trees.
I’m in the garage though both at home and at the office. I only need a snow brush maybe once or twice a season.
Yes there was frost on the pumpkin this morning.
We had a window scrape alert.
I have 6 parking stalls, but no room for my truck in the garages.
Maybe it’s time to do some organizing.
Yeah, got down into the 50’s last night. Bone chilling cold. I love this time of year: your shoes don’t melt. The second degree burns from touching the door handle are almost healed. The newspaper doesn’t spontaneously combust on the driveway. Good Times!
It was warmer here this morning than it’s been all day! The choke on my wrecker has been closing after an hour vs. 4 yesterday.
a raw NE wind. Storms brewin’
i was young once… and I clearly remember sticking my tongue to a fence post… left some tongue skin there too…
Still haven’t figured out what was worse… the pain of a raw tongue, or the fact that all the other school kids saw me trying to convince myself to get it done with…
Yeah, it got cold (at night) down here, too. High 50’s; had to wake up about 2AM to close the windows, because we were shivering.
Don’t have to get a new ice scraper yet, but I’m sure it will be necessary at least once before Christmas. Wouldn’t have to get a new one at all; but I didn’t bring it inside the house last spring. Left it outside in the carport; the sun got to it and it’s warped and slightly melted. I’m ashamed to say that it actually sat on the roof of the Cougar - on top of the car cover, which was a good thing. The melted part is only the cover; instead of becoming one with the old, cracked vinyl half-top.
What are these “snow flurries” of which you speak?
I’m gonna not whine about it being in the 20’sF right now. Also, no frost on the windshield when I hit the gym at 0500.
Apparently, it’s La Vie en Rose up in here.
Yesterday was 0° and minus 40 wind chill.
Truck door was froze had to slam it a few times before it would close.
Got to work, the office door was froze shut.
Today was 5°, toasty.
Torsion spring on the garage door broke.
Probably was going to break anyway, the cold just helped it along.
