I know a lot of us here love old cars and trucks. At one time I had a 1966 F100 short bed beater. But this one is what I wish mine had been… I LOVE this truck. Watch all the video’s if you have time. Oh and Bill I think this guy is in your area…

It doesn’t get much better than that. I guess part of what really attracts me to it is it’s the same colors as my dad’s 65 that I learned to use a clutch when I was 15. The 65 is identical with a slight grill change in 66. I wish I had those skills, energy, and money.
I have a soft spot in my heart for the 1966 F series pickups. I learned to drive a stick in a then new 66 F 250 with the granny low 4 speed. I also had a Short bed F 100 for a few years in the 1990’s. It was a bit of a beater.
I put a 65 Grill in to it as it was straighter then the 66 one was. But it was a 66.
That is a killer ‘66 build. My dad has a 66 f100 shorty, but still has the original 352. It lived in Southern California it’s whole life until it came east in 2018, needs paint and interior work but there’s no rust anywhere. Unfortunately the build you posted is too big for my wallet…
When you have time post a picture. The beater one I had was originally a 352. But when I got it, it had a 302 in it and a granny low 4 speed. That engine was nearly deal. I had a nice running 289 form one of the Cougars in the back ground of that picture that I put in it.
Here is a pic. Not much history on it, it is a custom cab but someone removed all the trim and emblems at one point, my guess is some point in the 90s. It needs a paint job, the color code on the vin tag is blank, which I believe indicates it was special order. Can’t find any evidence that is was any other color but blue in its life. Some folks say it’s possible the truck was born with the ranger trim which had mustang buckets and a console…if that’s the case it’s a shame someone stripped everything out.
I would really like to do something similar on a slightly later model F100. I have a couple donor f250 6.2 trucks that would be great to swap all their parts into a F100. Modern driving experience in a classic trim!
