1967 A/C Compressor rebuild?

I was curious if anyone was familiar with rebuilding the A/C compressors. I know most modern radial compressors don’t do well. Do factory Ford units rebuild well? If so, what is involved in doing it? After driving my Shelby in 100 degree weather with no AC I am going to dig up components to add it.
I am trying not to wind up 2500 in the project.

I chickened out on this recently. I got one of these https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/driveworks-reman-york-209-210-compressor-w-o-clutch-dw57056/3881970-P?searchTerm=a%2Fc+compressor , using a 25% off coupon to boot. Mail order, not from the local Advance - and it’s running like a champ. It was drop-shipped from IN (or possibly MO, I’ve grown foggy on that) and appears to be a Four Seasons remanufactured. I replaced the receiver/drier and the clutch brushes (reused clutch that was on there), and had a local guy fill it with R134.

The rebuild in the '68 shop manual seemed within my abilities, but I had trouble finding the internals. The vintage A/C outfits seem to want to do it for you vs. selling the parts. Maybe someone else can correct me and link to the parts - it can’t be as much as even that $125 reman.
