while looking at a “rust bucket” 100 miles away for a $1,000 dollars, and several others 300 to 500 miles away for a lot more, I had a chat with a friend of mine and he says “What would you say if I told you there is a '67, '68 and two '69 convertibles not a mile and half from this very spot?” I told him “I cant afford it!” He gave me that phone number of the guy and I went and looked at them. While looking we learned that he had two '67’s, one of which was for sale. Well, that was about a month and a half ago. I went and picked up the '67 that was for sale and brought it home. Has a 289 2bb with A/C. It’s a base unit, but it is in excellent condition. It’s been setting in the guys shed for the past 29 years. He had the foresight to put rodent poison in the car, but they got to the spark plug wires. That’s all I’ve seen so far.
Looks like a really nice car.
Wow, to be so lucky to find such a good stash.
Wish something like that would fall in my lap!
Nice.
The grill looks darn nere perfect.
That interior looks really good. Look at the chrome still on the instrument cluster.
WOW! The term barn find is overused these days but no denying your was an ACTUAL barn find! Great color, looks to be in great condition! Bet you looked in the rearview mirror way more than you should have on the way home. Please post more as you clean her up.
That is a solid find! I think you under estimated it being in excellent shape! I bet she doesnt take too much to clean up and put back on the road.
She is beautiful. What a great find; looks all original and is such a fine example. Post some more pics soon and congrats.
Please be gentle on your cleaning. Take lots of photos, do not touch up any areas until you have gotten it all cleaned up. This looks like it could be a good reference example.
