Below is a link for my 1967 Cougar GT for sale. It breaks our heart to sell, but we just don’t have time for the car anymore (darn kids!). Please take a look. I do have more photos available other than what is in the ad.
I might be wrong but I don’t think your car is a GT. It looks like it has the 6.5 Litre option by the badges on the fender. They are different packages. Do you have a Marti report stating the GT option?

Just pointing out that your car looks to have the 6.5 litre fender badge in your picture. There is no code that I’m aware of in the vin # that lets you know if it’s a GT. The best way to be sure is a Marti report. The S code is a 390GT engine not the GT package. A GT Cougar has the S code 390GT engine but different exhaust, handling options and fender badges that say GT. just point this out to help you price your car correctly. Good luck with your sale.

The car had the emblems on it when my husband bought it. It was one of those “in a back yard” kind of purchases. It wasn’t until years after he did the body work & paint job and we started to take it to shows that we started decoding the VIN number. So the badges on the fender, may or may not be correct. I also know at one point he had the rectangular emblem that has COUGAR printed and the cat next to it as well as Cougar in script on the car. So some body panels may have come from other “donors” previous to when he bought it in '92ish.
Would you be kind enough to post more pictures of the engine and interior here on this site. It will possibly help you make your sale quicker. What work did you and your husband do to the car while you have owned it? What condition is the grille?
Steven
I will add photos tonight if I can. This car is in no way a matching numbers car. We were told when we decoded the VIN and found it had the S code for the 390, that the 390 was only available on the GT’s.
My car is an S code 390 numbers matching and it’s not a GT. I am sure of it because I got a Marti report for my car. They say (whoever they are ) that S codes rode smoother and that was a sales point to women buyers. Not sure how true that is but my Cougar’s first owner was a lady.

There is a section on this forum on how to post pictures and resize them. When I want to resize one of my pictures I use MS Paint (Windows Program on just about every computer). I load the image then I click the image button. When the drop down window opens select Strech and Skew, the attributes are set at 100%. Can decrease the size as much as you want I usually go 50% in each box (horizontal, verticle). Then I click the “save as” button from the file menu, name the photo and save it as a jpeg. Photobucket is super easy to use. You can use it to host your pictures for free. http://www.photobucket.com
Hope this helps.
