Now just drop it an 1" and you’d have the right kind of look
haha Probably not necessary to remove it, but once I started, I had to see what it would look like. Such are the dangers of Photoshop.
I’ve seen trees chase dogs down the street when there’s a long drought…
I like them with black side walls. Great photoshop Andrew.
What’s the chance of your earlier photoshopped wheels becoming a reality?
Steven
A thread on these wheels has been started over on the SAAC forum.

Here is a cool piece of history that I thought would be appropriate to post here. This is the letter that was included in the “How To Sharpen A Cougar’s Claws” folder to dealers.
My only question is; what the heck are “gymkhanas”?!

That’s a new world to me but here is the meaning.
gym·kha·na
jimˈkänə/
noun
plural noun: gymkhanas
a day event comprising races and other competitions between horse riders or car drivers.
On a different note the Cougar fiberglass hood in the catalog I wonder if it’s the same as the XR7S. Do you have any idea Philip?

In this case, doing things with cars that traditionally was done with horses. Typically an all-day event.
Have you seen any of Ken Block’s Gymkhanas?
Here’s one where he tears up LA in a “65 Mustang.”

I doubt it’s exactly what Ford was thinking in 1966, but Block’s videos are amazing.
I think Ford was talking about auto crosses.
Well, now I’m going to have to use that word. In fact, Delmarva’s next event is going to be a gymkhana at a brand new race track near me, Dominion Raceway. Former DCC prez Jim Karamanis is the co-chair of the Vintage Racers Group so anyone that brings a Cougar (or any vintage car, for that matter) can go out on the track on Saturday for some parade laps. More info here:

As for the fiberglass hood mentioned in the HTSACC brochure, I certainly have never seen one and I don’t think anyone has produced a photo of one yet.
If I’m not mistaken, I think the hood w/scoop that is on the G-Force Cougar and that was offered for sale thru WCCC was a neat calculated guess as to what the Shelby hood might have looked like.
Steven, that hood used on the XR7S is a terrific candidate - I never made that connection but that is as good a guess as any I have heard.

Yes… We are unsure if said hood ever actually made it to the market as no physical evidence has ever been found that even a prototype was ever made.
The owner of the XR7-S told me in 1980 that the S’s fiberglass hood was proposed to be used for the GTE and/or the G but Mercury couldn’t justify AO Smith costs because the volume won’t be like the 68 Shelby.

My iphone still smells of tire smoke after watching that video. Donuts around the donut shop was a particularly nice touch.

Not sure at this point, I think I heard that they were in the works, but don’t quote me on that.
The lack of offset or “lip” makes it look like a hubcap. Wish I could love it because I’m always happy when companies add to our brand. But like the design.
