Anyone have the cure for making the1967 repro Mustang wheelfit correct on a 67 tilt and not rub? Other than milling a 1/16" off the base of the chrome wheel hub I do not know what to do. One could run a 1967 Thunderbird collar but you would show a gap.
Don, can a washer or spacer be used to keep the steering wheel from dropping all the way down on the column?
By the way, way back some years ago, there was a thread started about using the 67 steering wheel with the mustang center and cougar emblem placed in the center. I think it was you who posted this picture on MC.net.
Was that just a mock up or can it be implemented?
I was thinking a (or 2) teflon spacer or washer
Are the 67 and 68 tilt columns the same?
Not at all.
Yes, that’s it and that is what Im talking about! But why wouldn’t this type of wheel work on the 68 Tilt?
Wow, that looks great. Does somebody make/sell that center part, or is it custom?
It’s a coustom piece. Here is another photo showing how the center piece was made. It looks really well done. Coolgar on MC.net showed this picture when he was making the center cap.
