Looking for a 67 with Turquoise exterior, interior color not important, aqua, white or black works. Looking for unmodified car with nice body and paint, at least driver quality paint. Must be rust free or very nearly so. Prefer Standard with PS and PB but not a deal breaker, would consider xr7. If you have one that needs work but do not want to sell I would consider doing a fair amount of labor and parts for free for the use of it for a few weeks. My daughter is getting married in October and she grew up with said plastic promo toy in her toy box and always loved the color, would be fun to surprise her… Don 503-463-1130
Bingo! Exactly what I wanted and price looks good. Where do I send the finders fee Huzer? I sure hope it is still there. Appreciate the offer Chris, if you were closer I would bite!
Hopefully it works out for you and they still have the car. I just happened to be looking on CL last night and remembered this post. Wasn’t sure if it was the right color, but figured I’d toss it out there as an option.
Well that was easy! Super nice guy, previous owner was a Mustang collector and bought it new for each of his three daughters to drive to school, says it is turn key and will drive to Oregon no problem. He was thrilled with my $6500 offer. Could not be happier right now, my daughter will be thrilled! Only bummer is under the peel and stick horizontal bump strip is holes drilled from the vintage bump strip… Oh well, can’t have everything.
I know… The seller was convinced they were original. I have an almost NOS set of Keystone 14x7" wire basket wheels with white white walls I may put on it. Don’t laugh, you and I would probably not go that route but she could care less about 14x5.5" original Kelsey Hayes blah - blah - blah… A trunk rack with era correct luggage might be cute.
This is a great story. I really like the bond that the Classic Cougar Community has and the willingness to help each other. Congratulations Don.

I got antsy and just sent him payment in full without having my customer local to him check it out for me. Will be calling a random transporter and waiting anxiously for my pig in a poke. One of these days I will get hosed on a site unseen deal like this but I had “a good feeling” on this one… Really appreciate the community involvement here, thanks for being engaged in my quest! Below is a pic of my son who is now 18, this 67 promo car was in their toy box for years until one too many crash up derbys with the Tonkas did it in. Of course I saved all usable parts after parting it out.
Got the car and am overall pleased with it but it does need a lot of work. Very solid, decent paint but he was no mechanic (owned it for 24 yrs) and took it to random shops that did not always do things right. I had to gut the interior as it has a mouse pee smell and everything but the console, door panels and rear side panels looked tired after 50 years, go figure… It is good for me to take on a project like this every so often just to experience the thrill of victory and agony of defeat as do my customers. Amazing how fast one can put $5000 into a car! I will update this thread when I get a few glamour shots.
