A long time customer of mine started this project years ago and due to health he just cannot finish the last 10% required. He has managed a very large body shop within walking distance of my shop for many years and all work was meticulously done by him. He did not scrimp anywhere on materials or time in prep. He started with a very solid Western car that had never been wrecked and only a few little pimples in the normal spots. He has $5000 into the Ford Motorsports Crate engine and built C4 that produces about 340 HP. The paint is gorgeous and he has spent thousands on new everything from WCCC and other suppliers. From my experience, I doubt you could find someone to do a rotisserie as he did for $15k, at least not to this quality. He would LOVE to re-home this car to a father and son who would like to start and finish a project over a summer. Floyd is a “salt of the earth” kind of guy and you will not find a more honest guy, DO NOT yank his chain! One could pick out a stereo, traction-lok, steering wheel and misc, assemble it and have a $27k car by August. Call Floyd at 503-507-5313. He lives just up the hill from me (close to Silver Falls State Park) so I can help arrange shipping and anything else that would make the deal go smooth. Tell him Don sent you.
Yea, for sure! There is no way to buy and build a car for 15K!! Paint removal ,body supplies and good paint can hover near 5K alone!!!
This is tempting.
Thats worth everypenny!
Beautiful. Someone needs to help him out by purchasing this soon. If only I had the means.
Thanks for the bump. Somehow I missed this one.
I hope it is still available.
It is… I am going to buy it if someone does not make a move, just could not take it on when I was trying to prepare for my open house.
15k isn’t much for a paint job these days.
I’d really like to pick this up also!
So…Don Rush, if you don’t buy it, can I get some info on it? Like where is it located?
I’ve been looking a long time for a A-1 build!
I’m a retired Ford painter myself.
Gene
As is stated in the first post the car is located very near to Don, so that would put it in Oregon. Also stated in the first post, the owner’s name is Floyd and his phone number is posted. So just give him a call and ask him all your questions. This looks like a very nice car and a good deal for the money. I am surprised that it has not yet sold.

Yeah, I engaged fingers before I engaged brain…
I plan to call this afternoon. Even though I retired from FoMoCo I’m back to work again…
Can’t call from work.
Thanks for leading me in the correct direction…
Gene
Randy, I think the exterior paint and vinyl roof colour are the only things holding this car back. Unless you love, or are willing to live with, this colour combination, you will need to invest some money in a quality paint job.
There is also the fact that many people are hesitant to travel to look at a collector vehicle and check it out for themselves, but I’m sure someone on this forum could do it for them if it is put out there.
I already did inspect it thoroughly… He is a long time customer and neighbor of WCCC, He runs the Paint and Body Shop at May Trucking across the street from Pilot Truck stop at exit 263 off I5. The person who buys this will not be repainting, it will be someone who likes the color. I personally think it is a tasteful mild custom. Since taking the pics he has cleaned it up, got it running and did some more assembly.
I rather like the color. It probably would not have been my first choice if I was the one choosing, but I could certainly live with it. I am not in the market though to buy another Cougar.

Gene, the car is in Oregon, near Salem.
Don Rush, this is truly a beautiful Cougar. I sure hope someone else buys it before you do. We all know what will happen to the price once you get it. Someone will have to pay a lot more for it later.
Everyone else, I hope someone buys this car and that they will treasure it like it should be. I love the paint and the brown vinyl top is really great looking. The trunk looks spectacular, love the Cragers, and the interior seems to be pretty sweet.
I feel bad for the owner having to give up his dream car. No one wants that to happen to any Cougar owner. It is such a shame that he got hurt and can no longer work on the car. I wish him the best of luck in his recovery and I hope someone who will treasure this car purchases it soon. I know it may sound crazy, but I actually walked out into my garage this evening and kissed the vinyl top on my Cougar. I don’t know what came over me…I just absolutely love Cougars…no other make or model affects me this way.
So, someone help this gentleman out and buy his spectacular Cougar for a measly $15,000.
After several pH calls to Floyd the owner (real nice guy) & a call to Don Rush, this Cougar will be heading to IL.!
Yep I bought it, it will be getting shipped out soon, it is paid for. At 57 years old myself & a experienced painter I know exactly what it takes to get a car up to par like this one! This car will be in the best of hands, I can’t wait to finish it up with my own mad twist! I had my head set on getting a dark green Cougar but I have no problem what so ever with the color it is…
Thank you Don, & THANK YOU Floyd!
Fantastic! I just talked to Floyd and he is very happy to see it go to someone like you who can appreciate the work done on it and take his dream to the finish line. I will go pick up for you and prep it for shipping ASAP. Well bought!
Congrats and glad to see it going to a good home! Interested in seeing the twist when done!
Just picked up the car, its bags are packed and ready to head East! Floyd offered me his 69 4x4 with 4spd for $800. I really shouldn’t, but it is a close twin to the 2wd I started this business with and it would be fun to own another.
