1967 tilt column parts

I have a lot of parts for a 1967 tilt column. I think between what I have, what can be purchased at West Coast Classic Cougar, and what can be made, it is enough for a complete tilt column. Some of the parts came from a 1967 Tbird, some from a Mustang. I can add more photos and more details of anyone is interested. I know a lot about these tilt columns, I have one in my 1969 Mustang. I came across some parts, I wanted spares for my car. I am keeping the spare parts, and have these extras to sell.

The cover in photo 100_0566 came from the Tbird. I understand the Cougar had a folded “lip” on the front edge. Otherwise all other dimensions are the same.

The steering shaft is from a tbird. I am not sure what the correct length is for the Cougar

adding photos of the shaft

again, trying to add shaft photos.

Danno,
Is what you have pictured all you have then?

I also have a Mustang tilt turn signal switch in very good condition, the inner and outer shaft from the Tbird, and other small parts. It is not everything you need, but the missing pieces are available at West Coast Cougar or can be made by a person good at making and putting pieces together. There are details like the steering shaft with the U joint in it. It is from the Tbird, and I do not know if it is shorter in the Cougar? I also know that the 69 turn signal switch is different, but maybe it will work fine in a 1967 Maybe 1967 tilt column turn signal switches are available now to buy new?

I am happy to go into the details to confirm everything before a purchase would be made. I am going to list it in ebay soon, but giving those here the first chance.

Be kinda nice to see an itemized list of what you all do have. To say other small parts is a little vague as these things have lots of small parts  Obviously no outer tube or vac motor and mount etc? Wiring? I would need to verify the the Tbird parts if they would work in a Cougar. Then price of course.

I will have to get a photo of what all the extra parts are. Examples are plastic inserts, spacers, screws, wire clamps, etc… I also have the outer and inner steering column from the tbird. I know they are different, but I do not know if the difference matters. The steering shaft is another item that I do not know about. Is the one from a tibrd longer? I do not know. What I was hoping to find is someone who knows the 67 tilt and would want to buy what I have or help someone else with it. Like I have mentioned, I certainly know the 1969 Cougar and Tbird differences, but not 1967. For 1969 the difference is in the steering outer column only, because it had the tranny shifter on the column instead of floor.

I will get a better summary of all parts, and also the missing parts. The missing parts should be available at West Coast Classic Cougar.

Pellets4fuel, where in Wisconsin are you? Do you ever have a reason to get to Minneapolis where I am?

The tin cover collar is from a T-Bird. Cougar has a lip.

danno,
We are down closer to Madison, and I should get up there someday. I have a brother that lives there. I have never been to his place. I don’t mind that the tin collar is different. Like WCCC states to use the one without the lip with the after market steering wheel which is what I have the after market Mustang version. The missing parts are available, but when you start piecing things out it can sometimes get more expensive depending on how much you pay for the item your trying to piece back together
Look forward to seeing what all small parts you have so I can see what I may have to pick up if I decide to go this route. I know you can just build a tilt only steering wheel without the ‘away’ part. WCCC offers them, but I have never messed with one of these so I don’t know what it takes.
