1967 XR-7 4 speed on eBay

Saw this on eBay. Looks good. Fair price for a starting bid? I think it is, what’s your thoughts.

That’s a Buy-It-Now not a starting bid, so that’s the most it could sell for. DGS and GT and 4-speed are all in its favor, but non-correct paint color and rust problems and non-functioning headlights work against it. Especially the bubbling incorrect paint, I would think.

I’d probably be happy getting it for like $12k, maybe $15k tops, but that’s just me. I love the 4-speed GT and the color, but it being the wrong color makes it worth less and the rust/bubbling are a huge turn-off for me. I just imagine what else is going on under that paint.

She sure is nice to look at though, in the good pics. And man does that engine bay look nice!

This is John Thomlinsons car, I saw it years ago and was going to buy it but John decided not to sell… it’s a nice one!

It will be interesting to see what this one brings. A 4 speed XR7 GT is a pretty nice find, but this one has a few question marks to go with it. If you wanted a correct original car, then you have a number of expensive parts to locate. They also painted over a lot of parts that should not have been painted. IF you are looking for a driver, this might be a real winner, except for highway driving (4.11 rear gears?)
